Hello, Hello. Hello. Welcome to fit and fabulous with me, Dr. Orlena. I hope that you are feeling amazing. And if not, I have a big question for you today.
Before I tell you about my big question. I just wanted to tell you a quick little story. I have been doing far more cycling at the moment because it is a little bit cold to be swimming in the sea.
Do you know what two years ago before COVID and quarantine. My bike had been sat, basically getting rusty for an awful long time. With four young kids, I'd bought a bike and then had twins. And so couldn't actually get out of my bikes. I loved the idea of using my bike. I just never actually used it. I remember one time, a few years ago when we tried to go on a bicycle ride with the four little ones and we had a twin on a seat on each bike and then the other little kids, one with stabilizes and we did not get very far.
We. Persevere, but not, not such that it was actually, you know, anything resembling. So in the last two years, I've really increased the amount I cycle I cycle to the beach. But basically what happened was we were locked up for seven weeks. Yes. Literally locked up. We weren't allowed out of the house other than to go shopping.
And so by the end of the seven weeks, I was absolutely itching to get out and do something and I wanted to go swimming. But for some strange reason, we weren't allowed in the cars. We were only allowed to cycle. So I said, right, I'm going to cycle. To the beach. And I realized it was only 10, 15 minutes away.
And that really, that was a much better use of my energy and, you know, just having those bikes there. So in the last few years, I've really, really increased my cycling. Anyhow, yesterday I went for a cycle ride with my husband. That's him. He still has a really old, clunky punk bike. I, my mum gave me a bike recently and I absolutely love it.
It's so much more enjoyable riding on the new bike rather than the company clunk bike. Although the clunky clunk bike. This is fun. Anyhow, I'm getting to the end of the story. I promise you the point of the story was we cycled round and we basically ended up on a bit of the route that we used to take over the year that we were living in the small house, which I'm sure if you've been listening to the podcast, you know, all about the small house.
So we were cycling backwards and forwards with the kids every single day. And it's still the same route that I do to get to the beach where I go swimming. But right now I'm not swimming. I'm going like once. And we were on this little bit of route and it was really strange. I could just feel these sort of echoes of emotions.
And I think it really just brought back to me that last year. Wow. Really stressful. And I'm still trying to unravel exactly why it was so stressful. Six of us living in a small house was stressful. My kids all have big emotions. The stress of getting the project sorted out, obviously through most of the year, you know, it was before this time, last year we didn't have vaccines.
So there was the stress of that. But what I really just noticed with. Being on that small stretch of road, just really brought back that echo of stress, which I think I had sort of been aware of last year, but not a hundred percent. I was still using all of my tools. You know, my emotional wellness tools, but there was just this underground wave of emotions that as I look back and beginning to unravel.
So there you go, just a little snippet, a little, I don't know, whatever you call it, what I would like you to take from that story, other than thinking bad emotions is, Hey, do you know what? In the last two years I was really, really changed. My exercise and if I can do it, so can you, so when I think about people who are starting to make healthy living choices, I see a lot of people who are not all in, there's still this thought or.
Yeah, I want to be more healthy. I want to lead a healthy life. I want all of those good things. I want to lose weight. I want a body I'm proud of. I want energy. I want to live a long and healthy life, but, and there's a big, big butt. And this bot is, Hey, I'm busy. I'm doing other things. Perhaps I'm scared of what it's going to look like.
I'm just going to put it off for a little bit longer, a little bit longer, a little bit less. And I think this is such a sad place to be. My big, big question is what are you waiting for? You know what they say? It there's never a right time, the right time is now. And I just like to read this quote. I was talking to one of the ladies in my group program.
And I look at the ladies in my group program and they are totally, totally rocking it. They have transformed their lives and I am so proud of all of the ladies in that group program. And this is what one of the ladies says. She says that she is simply a new woman. And I asked her what made this experience of being in the group program different than anything else.
And she says:
“the simplicity of it all, no magic tricks or empty promises, the one step in front of the other approach that what are you waiting for? Which no one had ever asked me. And I had never asked my. When faced with the prospect of being fatter and unhappier in 10 years, my choice was very clear.
The idea of doing this for my future self is incredibly motivating. I could never go back to that.”
And I think this is a really big question. If you're standing in this place and thinking, okay, I want to make changes, but I don't know how to, and I'm not a hundred percent sure what to do. Well, number one, go and listen to that amazing video that I have done, which I released last week and I will put a link in the show notes.
It is the 5 steps that I use with my. To fix their relationship with food, to lose 10 to 50 pounds naturally, and to have a life full of energy. And it's really thinking about those five Mindset shifts. You have to say that carefully that you need to take before you start doing the work, because if you don't, what happens is you start doing it.

Life happens. Life always happens. I promise you life always happens. And then you stopped doing it because you haven't made those shifts. So that video is totally, totally free. Go and watch it. Now, if you haven't already watched it, but this is my big question to you today. What are you waiting for? And I think that.
A lot of people deep down, what they truly believe is it's not going to work for me. And what I see is our brains oscillate between possibility. And we think about this dream of this is where I want to get to. I want to get to healthy living. I want to have. My own body that I'm proud of. I want to enjoy all of these things.
And then another part of our brain, which likes to keep us safe. And I've definitely talked about this before. It goes, no, let's just keep doing the same things. And it kind of says it kind of whispers to you. It's not going to work. You're going to be in exactly the same place as you are in 10 years time.
And I want to say to you don't listen to that voice or rather listen to it, acknowledge it and go, yeah. Do you know what I hear you saying that it's not going to work, but it is going to work. There is no reason why I can't make these changes. Yes, I'm busy. Yes. I'm used to doing things like this, but the bottom line is I have a human body and a human mind, and I can use those to my advantage.
And once they understand how to use. I can create healthy habits. I can do all the things that I need to do, and I promise you, there is no reason why you can't do these things. And another thing that I will tell. That I think really, really helps is people stand there going, oh my goodness, it's going to be one smooth foot after the one step, another step, another step.
I'm never going to hit an obstacle. No, of course that isn't going to happen. Of course, that isn't going to happen. One thing that I think is really interesting is when we're in that place, so you've taken this step. You've got to, yep. I'm committed. I'm doing these things. And then something happens. You're in new territory.
Think about it as going to a new town. So you're driving around a new town. You take a wrong turn. Oh my goodness. Big doubts and help what's happening. I don't know how to get them. When you take a wrong turn in your own town and familiar territory, you just course correct, because you're so used to it.
You're just like, oh yes. Why have I taken a left turn? I meant to go, right. It's fine. I know where I am. And I'm just going to. Go a different route, but when we're in new territory, when we're in a place where we're not sure of everything and we feel uncertain suddenly that mistake is amplified so that it becomes a big deal when it's not really a big deal, it's still just a wrong turn, except that it leads to this feeling of doubt and insecurity.
And, oh my goodness. I don't know what to do. So. My message to you is yes, you can make these changes. You can make these changes. You can get to healthy, amazing, you leading a healthy lifestyle and doing all the things that I talk about all four of those pillars, and you can do it in a way that is automatic and without thinking about it.
Now, I'm going to be totally honest with you. It doesn't happen overnight. What doesn't happen overnight is that it's becoming habit. Really ingraining it. Now, what does happen overnight when you make that commitment and say, yes, I am going to do what it takes. I'm going to put aside the energy, the time, the money, all the things that I need to make these changes.
And then you do see results in terms of energy levels. I'm so surprised at how quickly people change their energy levels. Again, going back to what the ladies in my group program say, here's exactly what she said. I am quite literally a new woman and it didn't take long for those changes to happen. It was a very easy and enjoyable transition to living my best life, to living my best life.
So you can do it once you've made that commitment, you will see some changes really, really, really quickly. Not all of the changes. I'm not promising you, that you're going to lose a hundred pounds in three days. That's ridiculous. That doesn't happen. But you can make changes quickly that take away that mindset.
Stop that constant. Constant. Am I doing it right? Am I doing it correctly? I should be doing that. That is draining your brain. And you can make changes that really do energize you quickly, and then everything else just falls into place and you look back and think, oh my goodness, I am living my most amazing life.
So listen, if you haven't listened to that video, go and listen to the video. It is 30 minutes long. I recommend leaving a little bit longer because if you're really, really committed, there is an invitation to book a call with me afterwards. And that will take you five minutes to book. So I really look forward to chatting to you.
I hope you come and make these amazing changes so you can live your best self. You can be healthy and have a long and healthy life. And if weight loss is part of that, then you can lose that weight as well. Have a fabulous day, and I will see you next week. Bye-bye.
